I met Elizabeth Gilbert at an Eat Pray Love book signing. Obviously I loved the book (or I wouldn't be making this journey), but the author was even better in person.

Hey Claire,
I am kicking off the comments on your blog. Hope your flights were not too long or delayed. E-mail if you need dad to bring anything else.
Love you,
Helen
Claire, I wish you the best as you embark on this great adventure! I look forward to reading your updates through your blog.
I bought Eat, Pray, Love the other day and I'm excited to start reading it...perhaps after my finals are over and I'm finally on the plane to India I can immerse myself into the book.
Safe Travels,
Aabir
claire,
i miss you already. just knowing that i can't readily talk to you makes me feel like something is missing... i hope that your travels have started out great. sending you love, positive thoughts, and i'm praying for you. love, lisa
Clairey have a lot of fun in Peru with Dad! I have faith that you you can climb that mountain!! Go Pete!!!!
Claire, I am so excited for you. I am reading Eat, Pray Love too. You are my hero. I love you still and think of you more than you could guess.
Hmmm, it kind of sounds like I'm your woman and we broke up or something. Sorry about that. Don't worry everybody, I'm just Claire's roomate from Granada. Yes, I like to think that's where this crazy travel bug first bit you...
I can't wait to hear what you think of Peru. I went two years ago and there are just no words to describe it. If you get time and you're bored on a train or something, you should read Lituma en los Andes before you go. It's a good novel and it just gives you that magical, slightly creepy peruvian vibe. It comes in English too.
All good things to you! Love, -dc.
